September 17th – 1970A FESTIVAL OF THE ARTS OF INDIA – THE FIRST OF ITS KIND TO BE HELD IN GREAT BRITAIN
A festival of the Arts of India, the very first of its kind to be held in Great Britain, under the artistic management of Shankar Presentations and sponsored by the Sanskritik Centre of Indian Arts will take place this month. The Festival is to inaugurate the Sanskritik Centre of Indian Arts which is being set up in London to promote indian culture. A company of leading Indian singers, instrumentalists and dancers will perform the music and dancing in authentic and traditional classical style which form the major activity of the Festival. Performances will be given at the Queen Elizabeth Hall (20th and 21st September) and the Royal Festival Hall (Sept. 23rd).
